Michael Ray Bourque

November 20, 1954 - January 25, 2023

Michael Ray Bourque, 68, of Sour Lake, died Wednesday, January 25, 2023. He was born November 20, 1954, in Lake Charles, LA to Philip L. Bourque and Cecile Rost Bourque.

Michael had a strong Catholic faith. If you crossed paths with Michael, you would have never forgotten him. He worked for Exxon Mobil for 38 years as a pipefitter, firefighter, paramedic and a manager. Michael loved his deer hunting and playing golf while living in the country, raising cattle and horses.  Michael loved his wife, his family, friends, and has left all of us with his big heart and contagious smile.

He is survived by his spouse of 33 years, Marcia Bostwick Bourque of Sour Lake, Texas; children, David (Angela) Garrison of Daphne, AL; Michelle M. Duprie of Nederland, TX; Andrew (Laura) Garrison of Lititz, PA; Emily (Josh) Rachal of Liberty Hill, TX; Rachel (Brandon) Johnson of Nederland, TX; Teresa C. Bourque of Nederland, TX; grandchildren, Destiny (Hunter) LaBarge of Lumberton, TX; Kaylee (Blake) Mortera of Nederland, TX; Aaron M. Bourque, Jr.; Ava, Audie Mae and Anistyn Johnson of Nederland, TX; Katharine, Caroline, and Jackson Garrison of Daphne AL; Reece Duprie of Jasper, TX; Abigail Bourque of Austin, TX; Sebastian and Jocelyn Rachal of Liberty Hill, TX; and Mia and Warner Garrison of Lititz, PA; siblings, Angelyn Bourque of Orange, TX; Patricia (Eddie) Coppage of Deweyville, TX; Jennifer (John) Vincent of Victoria, TX; Laura (Tommy Snead of Tallahassee, FL; Cheryl Ables of Alice, TX; and Robert (Monique) Bourque of Ventura, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Preceded in death by his parents; son Aaron M. Bourque, Sr.; and grandson, Malachi Rachal.

A gathering of Mr. Bourque’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

    Michael was a great guy. I enjoyed working with him at Alky unit at Mobil oil. He was always up beat and humorous. I enjoyed seeing him after I retired, when I would see him at Ritter lumber. RIP Michael.

    I’ve known Mike since we were kids. We grew up in the same neighborhood, went to same school and hung out together a lot. Then we got jobs at Mobil Oil and even rode to work together for a couple of years and then worked on the same unit. He was a great guy and a good friend. He will be dearly missed.
