Michael Wahlberg
Michael Wahlberg, of Beaumont Texas, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2022, at the age of 69. Michael was born in Houston Texas on November 21st, 1952, to mother Phyllis Catherine Palmer and father Oscar Lawrence Wahlberg, Jr.
After graduating from Forest Park High School, Michael attended St. Thomas University. Michael then spent most of the years of his career at Gulf Copper and I Corp.
At a young age, Michael developed a love of art, which grew stronger over the years. He spent countless hours in his woodshop creating beautiful and unique pieces which brought joy to him and those around him. He loved helping people, whether family, friend, or stranger. His kindness and generosity were unmatched. He loved Tolstoy, spending time training his dogs, and making people smile with his famous, family recipe for spaghetti. He had a unique sense of humor, with it often said that the more he teased you the more he liked you, and anyone on the receiving end of his jokes felt the warmth of his heart. He was a loving husband and father who cherished his family. Michael will be remembered by his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Wahlberg; father, Oscar Lawrence Wahlberg, Jr.; brothers, Larry Wahlberg and Rick Wahlberg; sons, Michael Joshua Wahlberg; Jedediah Richard-Allen Wahlberg and his wife, Amy; Richard Bryan Chichester, III and his wife, Brooke; Quentin Michael Chichester and his wife, Stevie; daughter, Angelique Mechelle Wahlberg; grandkids, Jax Jedediah Wahlberg; Kilee Moody; Bryan Chichester, IIII and his wife, Cheyenne; Barry Chichester and his wife, Caley; Shawn Chichester and his wife, Chloe Lewis; beloved nieces and nephews; and his little wiggle butts Dale, Theodore, and Alexandria.

A gathering of Mr. Wahlberg’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 24, 2022, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.

I keep expecting Michael to come waltzing into my office asking what the “shiny, happy people” are up to. He was such a great story teller, and it pains me to know that I won’t get to hear more about his dogs or stories of his youth. His wealth of knowledge for machining will surely be missed, but his joyful presence will be missed the most. My thoughts are with all of you as you navigate through your grief.
I am so glad I got to know Michael over these last 6 months. My heartfelt condolences go out to his entire family during this time. He was a wonderful man and will be missed.
It is so sad to lose Michael. Although I’ve only known Michael and Jill a few years, they are both wonderful friends. Michael will be missed.
