Mike Woodiel
Mike Woodiel, 75, of Hamshire, died Monday, May 2, 2022, at The Riceland Medical Center, Winnie. He was born August 18, 1946, in Freeport, to Katherine Palmer Woodiel and Coy Woodiel.
Mike was United States Army veteran. He retired from Hamshire-Fannett ISD after serving thirty-one years of service as a wood shop teacher. Mike was known to be a hard worker. He enjoyed spending time working cattle and woodworking, as well as deer hunting and making his own wine.
He is survived by his nieces, nephews, and numerous loving relatives and friends.
A private family committal for Mr. Woodiel will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A Celebration of Life for Mr. Woodiel will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions in honor of Mr. Woodiel may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

Mr. Woodell was a great teacher and also a great neighbor! We moved here in 1975 and mr woodell has been a neighbor and friend for many of these years! He will be sorely missed! May you rest in peace , would you tel my parents hello
Mike was a wonderful teacher. He inspired me to do my best a s taught me how woodworking was to be done. He always explained everything to me in a way the I really appreciated. He is the reason that today I have my own wood shop and continue to LOVE woodworking. We lost a great teacher and fantastic man. Rest In Peace my friend. You will always be remembered.
I know Mike was loved by many and will be missed. He was such a kind man.
He was a wonderful man. I had him as a teacher all four years of high school. He was kind and sweet man. He gave me a hard time for being the only girl in his shop and drafting class. He definitely made a difference in my life. You will be missed.
Mr. Woodiel was an awesome person. He always had a smile and never met a stranger. The world needs more people like him. He is going to missed by many. Rest In Peace Mr. Woodiel.
I was so sorry to hear about Mr Woodiel’s passing. He was a great shop teacher too. When I was a Senior he let me make something in woodshop even though I wasn’t in his class
I went to school at H-F when Mr. Woodiel was a teacher, but knew him better as a neighbor in later years. He was always busy with projects and hobbies and enjoyed showing people his “winery” and talking about his hunting adventures. He was a kind soul and a good neighbor who will be missed.
