Milagros “Mita” Ostrea Ikari
Milagros “Mita” Ostrea Ikari, 85 years old, joined our Lord on Saturday, May 24, 2025. She was born on September 2, 1939 to Enrique O. Ostrea, Sr. and Elena Mapua.
Mrs. Ikari was employed with the Texaco Company in California and at Port Arthur, Texas. She enjoyed many things in life including travel, cooking for those she loved, sewing in her past time, listening to classical music and attending concerts, opera and bowling. Mita’s favorite charities included the EWTN, Association of the Miraculous Medal and the Breath of Life Foundation, Inc. which produces lifesaving adult and infant ventilators for free distribution to needy, government hospitals in the Philippines.
Mita is survived by her brothers, Dr. Antonio Ostrea, Dr. Enrique Ostrea, Jr., and Mr. Dindo Ostrea and her sister, Millen Esguerra.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Maxie A. Ikari and parents.
A gathering for Mrs. Ikari’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2025, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
