Betty Kotz
Betty Kotz, 86, of Nome, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at her home after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Nome, she retired from the Nome Post Office after forty-three years of service. She had been a longtime owner of Betty’s Liquor in Nome. “Miss Betty” was known and beloved as a tee ball and Little Dribblers coach by many raised in the Nome area, as well as the many customers who frequented her business.
Miss Betty was an avid rancher who was proud of her herd of Brangus Cattle. She had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. Miss Betty was one-of-a-kind and will be missed by all who knew her. She definitely will be remembered as a lady who liked to do things “her way.”
Miss Betty is survived by her daughter, Debi Fontenot, of China; sons, Mike Kaiser and his wife, Rachel, of China and Brandon Kotz, of Sour Lake; grandsons, Justin Kaiser of Vidor, Lane Kotz of Cisco, Reece Yoke of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Jerrod Yoke of Austin; and great-granddaughter, Addison Marie Kotz, of Cisco.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lena and Earl Cashion; her first husband, G.A. Kaiser; her second husband, L.H. Kotz, Jr., and her grandson, Kelly Thrash.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

Knew Betty all my life through the Nome Drive-in Theatre and Drive-in Diner and Postmaster. Good memories. May Betty rest in peace.
Prayers for Debi, family and friends.
Debi, Michael, Brandon and family, my deepest heartfelt condolences to you. I will forever remember Miss Betty and L.H. the first time Debi introduced them to me. While L.H. was a quiet man, Miss Betty was so outspoken, spoke her mind and very well respected by me for sure. My first impression of her was how strong, confident and independent this woman was. May she rest in peace with her Kelly Boy????❤????.
Deb I’m always here for you.
Fly High Sweet Lady…You will always have a place in my heart.
