Morris Nickles Louviere
Morris Nickles Louviere, 88, of Mauriceville, died Friday, May 16, 2025. He was born on December 6, 1936, in Sour Lake to Lucy Walker and Didies James “DJ” Louviere.
While living most of his life in Sour Lake, he loved spending time at the beach, on the water with his friends, and a fishing pole in his hand. He always said “There isn’t a place more peaceful than sitting in a boat on the water.” Morris loved everyone and never met a stranger. He was the best Pawpaw anyone could ask for; he loved his grandkids and would spend his summers driving them across the country in their motor home. As it got later in his life and his trips slowed down, he moved to Mauriceville with his son. Pops enjoyed sitting in his rocking chair, watching the birds, and visiting with friends. He said there is no better place in the world than sitting on that porch watching the world go by and if he got to do that forever, it wouldn’t be long enough.
Survivors include his son, Kevon Louviere of Mauriceville; grandchildren, Amanda Parks and her husband, Mike, of Lake Jackson; Dena Louviere of Mauriceville; Christopher Louviere and his wife, Jana, of Marble Falls; Sharayah Manni and her husband, Bo, of China; Bre-Anna Courtney of Beaumont; Jessica Ekvall and her husband, Jamin, of Silsbee; Ryan Louviere and his wife, Toryn, of Thicket; Justin Louviere of Sour Lake; and Katelynn Louviere of Sour Lake; great-grandchildren, Landon Ashwell, Matthew Ashwell, Arianna Parks, Baylee Smith, Daisy Parks, Brooklynn Manni, Maylee Manni, Makynsee Riley, Jade Ekvall, Adrianna Louviere, Walker Louviere, Aspen Louviere, Huntar Louviere, Braxton Louviere, Chase Manni, Jett Ekvall, Blair McGee, and Adalida Louviere; and great-great grandchildren, Emerie Cline and Denver Ashwell
