Nancy Attra Sala
On Saturday, February 8, 2025, Nancy Attra Sala, a loving wife and beloved mother, passed away at the age of 82. She was born on September 22, 1942, in Beaumont, Texas, to LouElla and Gus Attra.
Nancy graduated from French High School in Beaumont, Texas. She met the love of her life, Tony Sala, at age 17 through mutual friends at the Village Bowling Alley. Tony fell in love with Nancy immediately and they were married on July 31, 1961. Nancy and Tony raised three children together, Anthony Simeon Sala Jr., Stephanie Sala Fears, and Heather Kathleen Sala.
Nancy devoted her life to her family, always putting her three children first and attending every milestone, sporting event, class field trip, and dance recital throughout their lives. Her unconditional love and support were constant and unwavering, creating a foundation of comfort and strength for her children. Nancy’s kindness and love extended well beyond just her immediate family and friends and often included her children’s friends and families. So many people have such fond, funny memories and stories of Nancy and Tony, showing how much they were truly loved.
Nancy converted to Catholicism before marrying Tony. Both strongly believed in God and raised their children in the Catholic Church. Nancy, Tony, and their children were some of the earliest members to join St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, and they enjoyed attending services as a family.
Nancy’s generosity extended beyond her family. She gave of herself, volunteering her time with the Beaumont Junior League and Beaumont Junior Forum. Through these organizations, she touched the lives of many, bringing her compassion and warmth to each endeavor. Her involvement was a testament to her belief in giving back to the community and lifting up those around her.
Nancy had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and valued. She had a gentle spirit and a joyful heart, and her infectious smile could brighten even the darkest days. Whether at home, at a community event, or spending time with friends, Nancy’s presence was one of comfort and kindness.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Gus Attra; her mother, LouElla Attra; her husband, Tony Sala; her grandson, Noah Sala; and brother-in-law, Harry Moore.
Nancy is survived by her children, Anthony Sala, Jr., Stephanie Sala Fears, and Heather Sala; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace Phillips and her husband, Kyle Phillips; Katherine Conly Fears; Emma Rose Fears; her great-grandson, Lucas Phillips; and her sister, Joy Moore. Her dearest friends and family will carry her memory in their hearts forever. Nancy’s love and legacy will continue to inspire, and she will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family would like to thank Montebello Home Care, Angela Seal, and many others who cared for their mother, Nancy, over the last several years. Additionally, the family would like to thank nurses Cory and Amber from Centerwell, Dr. Gwendolyn Lavalais, all of the nurses from the South wing, and the in-home nursing team from Harbor Hospice. Their love, kindness, and comfort gave the family peace of mind and allowed them to focus on spending quality time with their mother.
The Sala family respectfully asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Nancy Sala to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, 2700 Horizon Drive, Ste. 120, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania 19406 theaftd.org.

Such a pleasant lady to be around.

Nancy always had an open door and cup of coffee ready any time you dropped in. Her infectious smile and laugh were contagious. I feel so fortunate to have spent so many years in the company of all the Sala family.

Wonderful memories of Nancy and I being dance moms together. Costume making, rehearsals and recitals. We tried hard to keep Miss Miriam happy. Lots of fun times. She was a very devoted mother. Love, hugs and prayers…. Tommi Bradburn
