Nancy Carroll

Nancy Olean DeBarge Carroll, 87, of McKinney, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, McKinney. She was born September 29, 1934, in Daisetta, to Walterine and Norris DeBarge.

Nancy resided in McKinney for the past eleven years but had called Nederland “home” for over fifty years. She was a devoted wife and homemaker who loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters, Pam Knapp and husband, Gary, of McKinney and Rhonda Carroll, of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren, Angela Nichole Orta; Lance Joseph Orta; Brianna Renee Orta; McKenzie Caryl Knapp; and Caleb Zachary Knapp; great-grandchildren, Xiomara Olean Zavaletta-Orta; Xelene Inez Zavaletta-Orta; Xienne Guadalupe Zavaletta-Orta; and Xander Juan Zavaletta-Orta; brother, L.N. “Sonny DeBarge and wife, Joyce; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of fifty-nine years, Billy Carroll; son, Billy Bruce Carroll, Sr.; grandson, Billy Bruce Carroll, Jr.; and sisters, Norricerene Wells and Rachel Ferrell.

A gathering of Mrs. Carroll’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12^th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
