Nelda Faye Curtis LeJune

Nelda LeJune, 76, of Winnie, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025. She was born on October 27, 1948, in Blythe, California to Paul and Roberta Curtis.  Nelda was married to the love of her life, Harry LeJune, from May 28, 1964, until his death in 2009.  In 1970, they moved to Texas.  Nelda was retired from the United States Postal Service.

Nelda very much enjoyed meeting new people and had a great sense of humor. She loved her dogs, classic country music and spending time with family and friends.

She was a resident of The Arboretum of Winnie, where she kept everyone on their toes and made some great friends. The family is grateful to the wonderful staff at The Arboretum for treating Nelda like family and making her feel comfortable while she was there.

Survivors include her sister, Ruth Hunter of Camp Verde, Arizona; brother, Harvey Curtis of Visalia, California; and longtime family friends, Janie and J.W. Carswell; and their children, Matthew, Jennifer, and Amanda and son, Gage Tully.

Nelda is preceded in death by, her husband, Harry LeJune; sisters, Lois Baldwin and Velma McFarland; and brother, Marvin Curtis.

A gathering of Nelda’s family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Monday, June 16, 2025, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
