Nora Lee Sikes
Nora Lee Sikes, 90, of Kountze, died Saturday, July 5, 2025. She was born on March 5, 1935, in Amity, Arkansas, to Bertha Lee Ashley Laster and Edgar Franklin Laster.
Survivors include children, Robert Edward “Buggs” Sikes, Diana Lynn Sikes Pearson, and Terry Lynn Sikes Gillam; grandchildren, Jamie Ewing Tice, Robert Eugene Ewing, Amanda Lee Gillam, Shandy Villani, Kyle Sikes, Dallas Shane Gillam, Holly Kyle and Dylan Sikes; great-grandchildren, Johnathon Ewing, Brennen Tice, Chase Tidwell, Zackery Sikes, Makenna Kyle, Jaxon Tanton, and Raiden Tanton; sisters, Joyce Mosley, and Peanut Brakenridge; plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert F. Sikes; sisters, Edna Roberts, Myrtle Whale, Erma Barnett, and Carolyn White; and brother, Junior.
A gathering of Mrs. Sikes’ family and friends will begin 2:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Church of Christ, 1035 North Pine Street, Kountze. Her interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.

Aunt Nora, you were my second mother. I loved you dearly. You were a caring, genuine, loving lady. I will always cherish my childhood memories of you. You were our family’s mother hen. You wanted to take care of everyone. You were also a little firecracker. See you again in Heaven.
