Norma John Campbell
Norma John Campbell, 94, of Fannett, died Sunday, September 26, 2021. She was born March 27, 1927, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, to Ethel Mae Wheeler Baker and and John Floyd Baker.
Mrs. Campbell loved dancing, playing cards, sewing, quilting, and bird watching. She was a retired teacher who taught at Hamshire-Fannett for twenty-one years.
She is survived by her children, Lee Campbell and his wife, Joyce; Beth McGown and her husband, Bobby; and John Campbell and his wife, Ann; grandchildren, Christopher Burns and his wife, Rebecca; John Ryan Campbell; Marlee Trahan and her husband, Kennie; Caylee Evans and her husband, Curtis; great-grandchildren, Kaley, Merrick, Aidan, Kenlee, Caleb, Cora; caregivers, Jessett Castro, Joyce Mannon, and Flavia Muller, and the family would like to thank the Heart of Texas Hospice for their care of Mrs. Campbell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel Baker; husband, W.L. Campbell, Jr.; sister, Jackie Hunt and nephew, Buddy Hunt.
Memorial contributions may be made to Methodist Children’s Home, 1111 Herring Avenue, Waco, Texas 76708 or Faith United Methodist Church, 18895 FM 365 Beaumont, Texas 77705.
A gathering of Mrs. Campbell’s family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Faith United Methodist Church, 18895 FM 365, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.

Dear Lee, Beth, and John,
I didn’t find out about your mom’s passing until after her funeral. I am so sorry for your loss. I really think you guys were so blessed to have her in your lives for such a long time, because not all of us are fortunate enough for our parents to live into their 90’s! She really was a beautiful woman, both inside and out, and SUCH a SWEET and GRACIOUS LADY!!! Please know I am praying for the eternal rest of her soul with God in Heaven where there is no pain and suffering at all. Know, also, that all three of you are in my prayers for grace and strength from God to bear and heal from your loss at this sad time in your lives. I

Norma John had a large extended family in California. She was first cousin to my mother, Geraldine Waggoner Lint, my uncle, William T. Waggoner, and my Aunt, Nita Annette Waggoner Ames. My cousin Dr. Nancy Earl, daughter of William T.Waggoner and I were so grateful to have been able to visit her two years ago at her home in Beaumont. We love you and will miss you Norma John!
Thank you Dale Mama really enjoyed yours and Nancy visit a couple of years age. Although her she was having some issues remembering things, she did remember your visit.
Lee, Beth and John.. you were blessed to have two amazing parents. Mrs. Campbell was such a sweet soul. I always thought she had such grace and dignity. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Thank you Lou Ann. I know we were blessed, but I really believe we all had some pretty darn good parents growing up.
Our community was so blessed with both of you parents. They helped raise all of us and I am truly thankful. Your mom will be so missed. My prayers are with you and your family at this time of loss.

It’s amazing how she touched so many people, many of whom we will never know. Even though I could never know your personal feeling of loss, I do know my own feelings of loosing a Mother.
