Obie Earl Parrish
Obie Earl Parrish, 73, of China, died Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Calder Woods, Beaumont. He was born on August 12, 1948, to Loretta Grace Mong Parrish and Raymond Benedict Parrish, in Port Arthur. Obie was a United States Navy veteran who was very proud of his service in Vietnam.
He enjoyed fishing and went every weekend with his son, Josh. Obie built custom knives and enjoyed giving them away to friends and family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and Paw Paw.
Survivors include his son, Josh Parrish and his fiancée Margarete Stehle, of Lumberton; daughters, Renee Venable of Beaumont and Kim McGrath and her husband, Scott, of Houston; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Connie Duplechin and her husband, Joe, of Lumberton.
He is preceded in death by his parents; former wife and friend, Jeanette Parrish; and brothers, Ray and Rollie Parrish.
A gathering of Mr. Parrish’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 13, 2022, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

Obie was a good friend and neighbor. Have a custom knife made by Obie that will become a family heirloom between my grandsons. My condolences and prayers go out to his family.
