Pamela Anne Sasser

December 9, 1953 - February 16, 2023

Pamela Anne Luquette Sasser, 69, of Lumberton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 16, 2023.  She was born on December 9, 1953, in Port Arthur, to Mary Helen Landry Luquette and Joseph Marshall Luquette.

Pam was a 1972 graduate from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur.  She attended Lamar University prior to her twenty-two-year career with Gulf States Utilities/Entergy and then with Spindletop MHMR for another twelve years, before retiring.

Pam lived life to the fullest, enjoying her many interests such as traveling with her husband, Bob, reading, tole painting, basket weaving, needlework, and taking walks on the beach searching for sea glass.  She always looked forward to warmer weather and spending time in their pool.  Pam was a member and past president of The Spindletop Stitchers and was also a member of The Embroiderer’s Guild of America.

Survivors include her husband of thirty-four years, Robert Sasser; sisters, Lori Corbello of Nederland and Linda Pray and her husband, Keith, of Brandywine, Maryland; nephews, Kyle Corbello of Nederland; Thomas Pray and Tiani McCarthy of Silver Spring, Maryland; Christopher Pray and his wife, Amber, of Manassas, Virginia; Jerimi Smart of Galveston; and David Smart of Austin; sister-in-law, Susan Beck of Beaumont; many other family members and friends; and her beloved fur-babies, Madi and Mia Bella. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Frank Dattalo; and her grandparents.

Pam was larger than life.  She loved to host family gatherings for the holidays.  She had a big heart for homeless pets and made a forever home for several throughout the years.  Her family and friends fondly recall her ability to make any trip an adventure, everyday anything but ordinary, and the time spent together a memory to cherish.  She was a joy to know and will be missed greatly.  If you were fortunate enough to have her in your life, you were truly blessed.

A gathering of Pam’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2023, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Silsbee.
