May 15, 1933 - October 10, 2024

Patricia Eileen Woods, 91, of Port Neches, passed into eternal life on Thursday, October 10, 2024. She was born May 15, 1933, in Lima, Ohio, to Bernard and Mildred Lauck.

Patricia was the oldest of three children. She was married to Keith Healy, Sr. in January 1955 in Lima, Ohio. They had four children: Candace, Catherine, Keith, and David. She later married Ford Woods in 1990 with whom she remained until his death in 2007.

Patricia led a very active and full life. From her early years, she was busy with activities including horseback riding, playing the trombone in her high school marching band, student government, and piano lessons. She loved taking shopping trips into New York with her mother. Travel took her to destinations in Iceland, Asia, and many locations throughout the United States.

Music and dancing were always a part of Patricia’s life. She was very active in square dancing where she was President of her local club and held district office as well. She and Ford loved Western Swing Music and traveled to many events throughout Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma so they could dance and sing to the sounds of Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys, among others.

Another love of Patricia’s was playing Bridge. On one providential day in 2010, she met her good friend Lucille in an exercise class at the YMCA. Lucille invited Patricia to take Bridge lessons with her and the rest is history. They have played as a team for all of this time and made quite a name for themselves. Patricia has been recognized for her Bridge playing skills but said that she would always continue to learn and hone her game.

Volunteering was important to Patricia. She was active in her church by helping with special events and attending Sunday School. She always had treats for the children on special occasions. She visited residents in nursing homes and worked at polling locations during election times.

Patricia was a stay-at-home mom for many years. She also performed secretarial work for private business and civil service for the military. She retired from Chemical Waste Management with many accolades.
