Pat Buehrle Caywood
Pat Buehrle Caywood, 76, of Beaumont, died Sunday, September 29, 2024. She was born on December 9, 1947, in Temple, Texas.
Pat was a very vibrant and fun-loving person. All that knew her would say she was never stopped and had such a positive attitude through anything.
She was paralyzed at 17 from a car wreck. Pat met Dale Buehrle in 1963 at The Gonzales Spring Rehabilitation Center. They were married in 1972, and moved to Groves, Texas, then shortly after moved to Beaumont, Texas. Pat worked at Dresser Ideco as a key punch operator until she retired. She and her late husband then had a booth at Larry’s antique mall in Beaumont, then Giant Food on 11th Street. They were big supporters of the Beaumont Enterprise Empty Stocking Fund along with The Christmas Bureau.
After Dale passed away in 2005, there was an article written on Pat saying, “volunteer pushes on despite husband’s death” for the collections and distribution of toys for the Empty Stocking Fund. Pat also commented in the article, “I have next week to start grieving. I need to do what I need to do right now.” She never stopped volunteering or helping others despite her disabilities which, if she was asked, she didn’t have any.
She was married to Howard Caywood in September 2021 and goes without saying they lived their lives together to the fullest.
Pat was an active member of Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church for over forty years and will be truly missed.

Pat and Dale were wonderful friends to my parents at Larry’s Antique Mall and Giant. My dad sold books for years and played dominoes with both of them. They were wonderful friends. Pat was at my dads 99 and 100th birthday parties. She was a life of the party.
John, your mother and dad were very close friends when we were working at Ideco. Remember you when you were young teen. So sorry to here of her passing. We visited her at Walmart inside and outside of Walmart. Beautiful picture. We sometimes would visit her at her home on Hazel. Then Ideco closed and we ended up in Houston working forNOV STILL with Ideco rigs and equipment. John would love to see you. JERRELL AND RUTHI
My heart goes out to Pat’s family and friends. I am a neighbor and I enjoyed Pat and Heidi passing my house, almost daily, on their walks. They would stop and talk and my puppies enjoyed talking to Heidi through the fence. I am going to miss seeing her each day and our little visits. She was such a dear, sweet lady. May God wrap his arms around your family and give you comfort, peace and strength.
Ever since I became involved with the Buerhle family in 2008 (and later married into it in 2012) my now wife , Cindy, couldn’t wait to take me to Beaumont to ‘show off’ her sister in law, Pat. Meeting Pat was like discovering a bright star in the night sky. Such an effervescent individual whose memory will live in me. I’ll miss you Pat.
I love you. I’ll Truly miss you. You’re my first. friend. During one of the worst parts of my life you Introduce me. to St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and all the people there. I cleaned your house. We became good friends. My best. friend. You’re always there. I love you truly. I’m still in shock. You’re always happy, loving positive, in everybody that was blessed to cross your path. It was a humbling experience. I’ll miss you, Pat. I love you so much. God bless you. You got your wings, You’re walking. You’re seeing all your family members that you lost. They gained an angel But she liked a lot of broken hearts. Deepest sympathy for all the family Howard my deepest sympathies for you also and your family. Love you always and forever. God bless.
So sorry to hear of Pat passing. I remember her from many years ago, when she and Dale married and she had such a bubbly personality.
