Paula Wilma Starr Bourgeois

Paula Wilma Starr Bourgeois, 88, of Texas City, died Wednesday, December 10, 2025. She was born on December 16, 1936, in Burbank, California.

Paula was a member of the Jasper Blue Bonnett Garden Club, the Jasper Women’s Civic Club, and the Saddle Club of Woodland Park, Co. She was also a member of St. Micheal Catholic Church of Jasper.

Paula moved to Jasper with her husband in 1955, where she stayed until 1988, and then settled in Woodland Park, Colorado in 1992. In 2022 she moved to Texas City, Texas until her death.

Survivors include her children, Sindy Hockert, Noel Bourgeois and Pryce Bourgeois; grandchildren, Adam and Bryce Bourgeois; great-grandchildren, Preston Davenport and Taylor Brooks; and great-great-grandchild, Cora Brooks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bourgeois; and granddaughter, Kandice Davenport.

Beloved mother and one hell of a tiny tornado. Mom often talked about her extended family, many friends and great memories in Jasper as well as Woodland Park. She loved you all.

A funeral service for Ms. Bourgeois will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Sandhill Cemetery, CR 3325, Colmesneil.
