Paula Worthy

January 14, 1971 - September 19, 2021

Paula Lawry Worthy, born in Beaumont, TX to Paulette Faye Rogers and Ronald “Butch” Rogers on January 14, 1971. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor, TX where she raised her four children, Pennie Rogers, Katherine Comeaux, Bryan Comeaux, and Blake Comeaux. She married Larry Worthy on July 18, 2008, and was blessed with four additional children, Christi Castillo, Stephanie Woods, Elizabeth Worthy, and Richard Worthy. She spent her life raising and loving her children, and studying and practicing her faith with her husband, Larry, and her mother, Paulette. Throughout her life, her mother, and her grandmother were often referred to as “the three P’s” which stood for: Pauline, Paulette, and Paula. She would go on to further that tradition with her first child, Pennie. She was then blessed with 19 grandchildren to whom she loved each dearly, and loved spending time with playing, nurturing, and spoiling. She was a full conservative momma who truly enjoyed watching documentaries and history shows with her husband. Her summer days were spent at the lake as often as she could get away with it. She loved to fish, even though she hardly caught anything. Her lake days were filled with love, laughter, and a lot of boat rides. Her fall and winter days were filled with family filled days, especially around the holidays. Her home was known as the heart of the family. She enjoyed trying new recipes from which she found on Pinterest. She was the glue that kept the family together, and the rock that we all leaned on in the trials and tribulations of life. When her mother Gammy wasn’t available, her family would turn to her for the wisdom that she was instilled with from her life experiences and being so close to the family’s “direct line to Jesus”.

She was preceded in death by her mother Paulette “Gammy” Rogers, her father Ronald “Butch” Rogers, her MeMaw, Pauline Broussard.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Worthy. Eight children, Christi, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Pennie, Richard, Katherine, Bryan, and Blake, and nineteen grandchildren. Her Brother, David Rogers, her sister, Samela Macon, and her sister, Bridget Renick.

Memorial contributions for Mrs. Worthy may be made to a church of one’s choice.

A celebration of life for Mrs. Worthy and Mrs. Rogers will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021, at First United Methodist Church, 501 N. Main Street, Vidor. Cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.

I’m saddened to hear of Paula’s passing. I went to school and worked with Paulette, and Paula was like was just so dear to be around. Penny and my son share a birthday. I wish we had more time to share in the memories.

I am so sad to hear about Paula and Paulette’s passing. I worked with them many years ago. Both were wonderful, strong women. I know her children adore her. Many prayers for Larry and the whole family. Rest in peace my friend.
