Paz was born on June 10th, 1933, in El Salvador, to Teodula Rivas and Antonio Ramirez. She is preceded in death by her husband Mario Oscar Galdámez, her parents, and numerous siblings.

Survivors include her children, firstborn, Hugo Nelson Galdámez and his wife, Ligia Chávez de Galdámez; middle child, Sonia Evelyn Galdámez de Flores and her husband, Raul Ernesto Flores; and youngest, Diana Carolina Galdámez de Molina and her husband, Juan Jose Molina. Her grandchildren by her son Hugo; Hugo Nelson Galdámez, Hugo Benjamin Galdámez and Mario Jose Galdámez. Grandchildren by her daughter Sonia; Dennisse Galdámez Peyton and her husband, Brandon Alan Peyton; and Evelyn Carolina Flores. Grandchildren by her daughter Diana; Jocelyn Rocio Molina and Diego Javier Molina. She is also survived by one sister, Ana Rivas de Zamora.

Paz was a woman of integrity, discipline, incredible strength, and most importantly deep faith. Throughout her life, she had an unshakable commitment to teaching and sharing her knowledge. Whether through the classroom or in the Biblically ordained service of making disciples, she touched countless lives with her nurturing spirit and passion for teaching.

As an Educator, Paz dedicated her life to helping others grow, both secularly and spiritually. She was a beloved Teacher and later Principal, guiding her students with patience and love, instilling in them a thirst for knowledge and a sense of purpose. In the 1950s, and against many odds, through sheer determination, discipline and intelligence, she was awarded a prestigious scholarship and attended full-time Boarding School in La Escuela Normal de El Salvador. She was the first in her family to earn a Bachelor’s degree. She then inspired and funded her siblings’ and three children’s pursuit of higher education. Paz also earned a Master’s Degree in Accounting and continued to exercise her love for mathematics her whole life.

Most importantly though, beyond her secular teaching, Paz found her greatest joy and fulfillment in sharing the Bible’s truth. Paz publicly dedicated her life to her God Jehovah by water baptism on May 23rd, 1987. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she found her greatest reward in teaching others about her God Jehovah’s love through the power of scripture. Her Bible lessons were filled with warmth, and her wisdom was a beacon of light to many.

As a grandmother, she was the heart of her family. Always there with unwavering support, a loving embrace, and the encouragement to always seek knowledge and to live with discipline, love and faith. Her children and grandchildren were the pride of her life, and she poured all her love and teachings into them. Her legacy will continue to live on in the values she imparted and the lessons she taught.

A gathering of Mrs. Galdámez’s family and friends will begin 5:00 p.m. (CST), with her funeral service at 6:00 p.m. (CST), Friday March 14, 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

We love you very much Dear Pita. Your love, your lessons, and your faith will forever remain in our hearts. We pray to have the strength and loyalty you showed “to endure to the end” (Mathew 24:13) so that we may see you and hug you again when “He Calls” (Job 14:15).
