Peggie Moore
Peggie Ann Moore, 87, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, December 10, 2025. She was born on June 16, 1938, in Ridgeway, Texas to Jewel Edward Helton and Clovis Lafayette Patterson.
Peggie Patterson attended South Park High School in Beaumont, Texas, where she met her future husband, Joel Moore. They graduated in 1956 and married on May 30, 1958. They raised their three children in Beaumont, Texas.
She was the heart and soul of our family— the glue that held us together, our constant, our safe place. Her presence made everything feel right, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled.
She lived her life rooted in love and faith. Family was her joy and her purpose, and she poured her whole heart into those she loved. She taught us what it means to love deeply, to show up fully, and to place family above all else. Her warmth welcomed everyone, her kindness knew no bounds, and her gentle strength shaped generations. She was deeply devoted to her family and found her greatest happiness in simply being with them.
Some of her simple pleasures brought her the greatest joy, such as taking a drive on a sunny day, casino nights, watching The Golden Girls marathons, indulging in home cooking, and never saying no to a little something sweet. In earlier years, she cherished family vacations, exploring many places together and creating memories.
She was home. The place we gathered. The arms we ran to. The voice we trusted. She was not only our mother and grandmother but our best friend, our secret keeper, and our greatest example of what a life rooted in love and faith should be.
We know one thing for sure: she is with the Lord now. She was a woman of strong faith, and we take comfort in knowing Heaven gained a beautiful soul. We now have a guardian angel watching over us, and her love will continue to guide us every day.
Though our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the life she lived and the love she gave so freely. She now rejoins her loved ones in Heaven, reunited with her parents, Jewel and Toby Patterson, and her beloved husband, Joel Artie Moore Jr., whom she adored. We find comfort in knowing they are together again.
She will be deeply missed and eternally loved.
Survivors include her children, Kelly Ann Moore of Kountze; David Artie Moore and his wife, Michele, of Spring Branch; and Gary Patrick Moore and his wife, Kelly, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Allison Ruiz, Natalie Cardona, Stephanie Cardona, Sarah Snowden and her husband, Ethan; Andrea Moore, Gavin Moore, Nathaniel Moore, and Angela Moore; great-granddaughter, Eliza Ortiz; nephew, Philip Stutz and his wife, Kathleen, of Mauriceville; and great-great-nieces, Alyx Stutz and Zelda Wickersham.
