Peggy Morris

December 10, 1939 - April 6, 2023

Peggy Albarado Morris, 83, of Beaumont, died Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born December 10, 1939, in Beaumont, to Emma Grace Schrimsher Albarado and Pete Albarado. Peggy graduated from South Park High School in 1957. She was the head drum major and member of the band. Peggy was quite popular and served on many different functions, clubs in school, and at yearly high school reunions. She attended Lamar University and at that time she met her future husband, Lewis, who she married in 1959, and they enjoyed 63 wonderful years together. Peggy gave birth to two daughters, Lisa and Cynthia, and also later became a grandmother to Ryan, her beloved grandson.

She was a devoted wife, mother, family member, and to her many friends. She was a very outgoing and positive person, who never met a stranger and was loved by all that knew her. Peggy had a real zest for life and laughing and smiling were a constant feature of her personality. As a friend said, “she could light up a room”.

She was a very capable person and could do almost anything she set her mind to. Peggy was a professional interior decorator and designer, and as the old adage says, “could sell snowballs to Eskimos”.

Her love for people was demonstrated not only to friends and acquaintances, but to countless others that she helped to learn the Bible. She was a dedicated Jehovah’s Witness since her baptism in 1961 and never missed a meeting except for illnesses.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Lewis E. Morris; daughters, Lisa Foster; Cynthia Nichols and her husband, Preston, of Austin; sister, Patricia Simmons and her husband, Dickie, of Kountze; brother, Dr. Bill Albarado and his wife, Mary, of Corpus Christi; numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan P. Foster; brother, John Albarado; and parents, Pete Albarado and Toby Albarado-Champagne.

Mrs. Morris’ funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

    Kimberly Allen Wolfford says:

Since I was 15, Peggy was like a second Mother to me. Since Lisa and I were best friends, I was with them all the time up until I married my first husband at 19. The whole family are wonderful people. I am saddened that her life the past five months had been so very difficult. She was so full of life, and so strong until the stroke happened. I’m grateful she is no longer suffering, and is at peace. Jehovah’s promise of resurrection into a cleansed earth of His faithful servants will certainly be her future. I loved you dearly Peggy. Until we embrace again.
