Penny Marie French
Penny Marie French, 58, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, July 24, 2024. She was born on January 18, 1966, in Beaumont, Texas, to Dora Mae Williams French and Thomas Wayne French, Sr.
Penny graduated as Salutatorian from Lumberton High School in 1984. While attending high school, she was vice president of the Math Club, treasurer of FFA, a member of National Honor Society, a member of the Yearbook Staff, participated in UIL Math, Spelling and Science, was featured in Who’s Who in American High School Students and the US Math Achievement Academy. After high school, Penny attended Lamar University and graduated with a BA in Psychology.
Penny will be remembered by her smile and her warm and sweet personality. She loved to bake and cook, and her favorite was making cookies, jellies, and jams which she shared with her family and friends. Her favorite color was blue, and she loved butterflies, the ocean, and going on cruises. She was also a descendent of John Jay French, which was one of the first settlers in Beaumont.
Survivors include her mother; siblings, Thomas Wayne French, Jr., and Leslie Elizabeth French; and the family dog whom she loved very much, Rambo; all of Lumberton. She was preceded in death by her father.
Penny’s cremation arrangements were handled by Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.

I am so sorry to hear of Penny’s passing. I was a classmate of hers at Lumberton High School. Penny was such a sweet and beautiful person on the inside and outside. May you all find comfort and lean on another during this difficult time. May GOD heal your hearts. Prayer to your family.
Leslie, you and your family are in my prayers during this time of grief. Although Penny isn’t among us on the physical realm she is steadily standing by each and every one you.
