Peter Joseph Bessard

Peter Joseph Bessard was born on January 13, 1949, in Lafayette, Louisiana to the late Beatrice Joseph and Raymond Wilbur Bessard. Peter was a mechanic for most of his life. He was also a Vietnam veteran who received the silver star for his service. He was a lovable flirt and enjoyed laughing all of the time.

In the early morning hours of September 6, 2022, his life expired, but his memory lives on in Jehovah God’s memory and in our hearts. Left to cherish his memory: 3 daughters, Shamyra “Bea” (Melvin) Barry; Clarissa “Candy” Johnnie of Beaumont, TX: Nicole (Carlton) Garrison of St. Martinville, LA; 1 son Rene (Selena) Bessard of Kaplan, LA; his older brother, Daniel (Margaret) Bob of Lafayette, LA; his sister, Donna Hilstock of Port Arthur, TX; aunts, Merlin Joseph and Mable Chae of San Francisco, CA; 12 grandchildren, Ki’Anna, Ki’Andre, Jamal, Kaydance, Jazmine, Tamia, Kirsten, Angel Messiah, Haley, Timmy, and Devante; 4 great-grandchildren, Payton, Dru, Micah, Zy’Air, Taylor, Madeline, and Amora along with a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Bessard and Beatrice Joseph; one brother, Revis Bessard; aunts, Lorena Broussards, Rose Armstrong, and Alberta Joseph; grandparents, Anna and George Joseph and Theodore “Boone” and Airline Bessard.

Mr. Bessard’s cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
