Quoc Nguyen

November 19, 1979 - September 16, 2020

Quoc Lan Nguyen was born on November 19, 1979, to Hung Van Nguyen and Khai Thi Tran in Beaumont, Texas.  He had 3 brothers: Thach, Phung and Lan and 2 sisters: Duyen and Canh. 

He graduated high school from Westbrook High School. After high school Quoc went to work for Walgreens, BMW and M&R Fleet Services. On November 15, 2008 he married the love of his life, Xuyen Tran, in Port Arthur and started his life with his 2 sons, Ian and Alex. 

Quoc was a family man, he enjoyed vacationing, family get togethers, playing with his nieces and nephews, and on the weekends fishing and crabbing with his wife and kids. Quoc was the IT person of the family, if you had a technical issue, he was your man. He enjoyed talking about cars and the most current electronic devices. He liked to play video games, watch anime movies and had an extensive array of trivial knowledge. He attended mass at St. Joseph Catholic church in Beaumont, and later at St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland. He had a zest for life and was always fun to have around. 

Survivors include his wife, Xuyen Tran, and his two sons, Ian and Alex, of Port Arthur, Texas. His brother Thach Nguyen and his wife, Kim, of Nederland; Phung Nguyen of Port Neches; Duyen Wolken and her husband, Lance, of Conroe;  Lan Nguyen and his wife, Regina, of Mont Belvieu; Canh Taylor and her husband, Shawn, of Eunice, New Mexico; his nieces and nephews, Ty and Brandon Nguyen, Andrew and Lia Nguyen, Jonathan and Megan Wolken, Chloe, Hudson, and Meredith Nguyen, Elijah and Kylie Edwards. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Hung van Nguyen and Khai Thi Tran.

A gathering of Mr. Nguyen’s family and friends will begin at 5:30 p.m., with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 20, Monday September 21, and Tuesday September 22, 2020, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1115 Orange Avenue, Beaumont. Due to COVID-19 this service will be limited to immediate family only, his graveside service will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont, all guests will be invited to this service with social distancing guidelines. Guests attending graveside service, please follow the funeral procession.

I met Quoc when he worked at Walgreens in the photo area when developing film was still a thing. He was so sweet and we became friends. I lost track when he left. My prayers for the family. RIP Quoc.
