Ramona Maryann Goodman Mason

May 6, 1963 - September 15, 2025

Our Loss, Heaven’s Gain.

Ramona Maryann Goodman Mason, 62, of Silsbee, went to be with her Lord on September 15, 2025. She was born on May 6, 1963, in Beaumont, Texas, to Mary Ethel Ross Goodman and Carl Edward Goodman.

Ramona was a devoted member of First Assembly of God in Silsbee for nearly twelve years. With a joyful spirit and servant’s heart, she was always ready to step in wherever she was needed—often saying, “Put me in, Coach”.

Family and the Lord meant everything to Ramona. Loving others was her God-given gift, and she poured that love generously into her family, her church family at First Assembly, and her family at Prestige Metals Exchange. She was deeply grateful for each and every one of you.

Ramona had a special heart for animals, especially her dogs and cats, and never hesitated to rescue any in need.

She is survived by her beloved daddy, Carl Edward Goodman, of Lumberton; siblings, Karen Bateman of Mauriceville; Greg Goodman and his wife, Amanda, of Mauriceville; Jodi Goodman of Lumberton; Darlene Carlos of Lumberton; and James Carlos of Lumberton.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ethel Ross Goodman; stepmother, Dorothy May Goodman; and her sister, Candace Desiree Marshall.

Ramona was such a vital part of our lives, and her absence leaves a tremendous void. She will forever be missed, but her love and light will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A gathering and Ramona’s family and friends will be at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025, at First Assembly of God, 950 Highway 96 South, Silsbee, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Leatherwood Cemetery, Lumberton.

Romana I know I only seen you when I was at your mom’s house.Rest in peace

    SUE HENDERSON says:

She was short in stature, but she sure was big on Love!!! She will be missed but we know she has touched the hem of Jesus’s garment and is now walking the streets of gold. (She is probably taking care of all the animals.)

Ramona wasn’t just a dear friend to me, she was family. She had a special place in my heart. We’ve known each other for 12 years. I am so blessed and grateful God put us in each other’s path.

She was a bit quirky at times but that was Ramona, and myself and everyone else loved her so very much.

She always called me “Sazzy Pants” — spelled with two Z’s, not two S’s. I never did figure out why, but that was the name she gave me. So I reciprocated and began to call her Sazzy-ette Pants.

She had special ringtones for several people and even gave me my own ringtone on her phone … “Bad to the Bone.” Again, I’m not sure why! The funny thing is, when I called her, she wouldn’t answer right away. She’d just let it ring and ring, so she could hear the whole song play.

Even at our dinner table sometimes, she’d say, “Call me to see if my phone is working.” I fell for it more than once. I’d call, the song would play, and she’d start bee-bopping around, letting it play over and over until I finally hung up on her. That was Ramona — bringing joy, laughter, and a little craziness everywhere she went.

Ramona was a faithful member of First Assembly of God in Silsbee. She loved her “Jesus Family”, (as she called us) with all her heart and we loved her! She served in many areas of the church. The little ones, including my little grandson, loved and adored her. With her small size, I believe they thought she was one of them!

She was always ready to help and was quick to say, “Put me in, coach!” And she meant it!! She never shied away from hard work — she even painted the entire church parking lot stripes by hand with a four-inch roller and brush by herself.

Ramona loved her family, extravagantly and wanted every one of you to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

To know Ramona was to love her. Everything she did, she did with God’s love. She lived to please Him, and she never did anything for self-gain. If you needed something, she’d help you — she’d literally give you the shirt off her back.

And last but not least, she loved her Prestige Metals Exchange family. She’d frequently stop by just to check on Renee, Joshua, Gabby, Tracy, Brandy, hug everyone there, and brighten their day. She always brought joy wherever she went. I don’t have all their names, but she loved you all, and she felt loved by you.

Ramona was a painter by trade — something her Daddy taught her and her sister, Karen. She often said, “You always leave a jobsite cleaner and better than when you got there.” Her strong work ethics came from her Daddy, whom she loved deeply. She was a Daddy’s girl, through and through.

I’m not sure if this is true, but I often heard Ramona say the reason she was smaller than Karen and Desiree is because they drank her goat milk. LOL

Ramona had a way of mixing her faith with her humor. She would tell me, “When the rapture comes, you look over your shoulder toward the south and I’ll look to the north. We’ll wave at each other on the way up.” We both believed we’d go together. Well … Ramona beat me there. But I know she’s with Jesus, smiling, waving, and cheering us on until we see her again.

At times, Ramona would spend holidays with our family. My sister, Beverly, would open up her home and invite Ramona and others to come enjoy a Thanksgiving or Christmas Meal with us. Those memories are so precious to us. My family loved Ramona.

When she became sick and couldn’t work anymore, she tell me, “I just want to get up and go to work. Working makes you feel good about yourself.” She believed in hard work. There wasn’t a lazy bone in her body.

Ramona’s life wasn’t easy, especially these last few months. But Ramona never grumbled. She never questioned God. She trusted Him completely and knew she and Jesus was working on her testimony. Ramona once told her doctors, “When it’s my time to go, I’ll go — not a minute before.” She chose to live her life fully, not just to exist. And she did. She was a brave woman of God.

Most recently, I’d tell her, “I’m so sorry you’re going through this.” She would always respond, “It’s okay… it’s just temporary.” She was right. Her sickness was temporary. She is walking with her Savior now, healed and made whole.

Through it all, she kept her faith. She had the most child-like faith of anyone I’ve ever known. She knew that Jesus held her in His hands. And when He called her Home … that was the day she had lived her whole life for.

And while we miss her so much, we know she is now with Jesus — smiling, laughing, dancing — and waiting for you and me.

I love you and miss you already Sazzyette Pants Ramona.

    Victoria Judalet says:

You encapsulated Ramona so well with this! ❤️ Ramona was walking sunshine in that fierce little body! No matter the circumstances, she exuded JOY!
Our family loves her so much. She always knew it too. She was important, thought of, and included. What a void we have in our church and our hearts now! I will so miss her “YEAHHHH” she gave from her pew! Absence from the body is to be present with the Lord. ❤️❤️

    Essie says:

Ramona you will be missed. Even tho we weren’t around each other much I love you. I know you are with the lord now. You proved your worth to him. I hope to see you there to.

    Roy Ross says:

Yall have my condolences, she is my niece. May the lord accepts her into his kingdom

    Lola Barkman says:
