Randy Glenn Best
Randy Glenn Best, 69, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, August 2, 2023. He was born on November 24, 1953, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Sue Pipkin Best and Jack Glenn Best.
Randy began working at Texaco in 1972. He married his wife Beth, January 31, 1976. They have since been blessed with 2 children, 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. Randy retired from Shell after 42 years of dedicated service.
In his spare time, Randy enjoyed all things motorcycle, singing and playing his horns in church, NASCAR, classic cars, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Best; mother, Sue Best of Lindale; children, Meryl Hughes and her husband, Stephen, of Vidor and Jared Best and his wife, Stephanie, of Nederland; grandchildren, Dillon Hughes, Ethan Hughes, Jackson Best, and Emery Best; and siblings, Kevin Lynn Best and his wife, Joy, of Lindale and Barbie Silkwood and her husband, Tony, of San Antonio. He is preceded in death by his father and sister-in-law, Joni.
A gathering of Randy’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His interment will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery, Woodville.

Randy was a distant cousin & wonderful person. The world was a better place bc of him.

Sincere condolences and prayers to the family. Randy was many things, a devout Christian, Great Grandson, Grandson, Son, Father, Husband, good Friend as well as a valued Work Associate. Randy was light hearted, sincere, honest, faithful, compassionate, dedicated, honest, loyal, credible, trustworthy, disciplined and humble. Praying for Gods compassion and mercy. I remember when your uncle Merl passed away you wrote that he had taken the checkered flag…so I guess you have now finished the race and saw the checkered flag as you crossed that finish line. Like the apostle Paul..you kept the faith and finished the course. Love you..aunt Jerry
