Ray “Buddy” Gallier

January 21, 1935 - December 26, 2022

Ray Rapheal Gallier, Jr., 87, of Cheek, died Monday, December 26, 2022. He was born on January 21, 1935, to Emily and Ray Gallier, Sr. Ray married the love of his life, Alene Louise Rutledge on June 9, 1955. A great father of six children, nine grandkids, and eighteen great-grandkids, and extended family members.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-seven years, Alene Gallier; daughters, Debra Jones and her husband, Bill and Linda Gallier; sons, Raymond Gallier and his wife, Kelly; Jeff Gallier and his partner, Susan; and David Gallier and his wife, Liz; grandkids, Christy; Joey and his wife, Candace; Sarah and her husband, Bobby; Kyle and his wife, Megan; Leighia and her husband, Derek; Josh and his wife, Kayla; Taner and his wife, Danielle; Taylor and her husband, Luke; and Macy;   great-grandkids, Austin, Addison, Avery, Catey, Paisley, Sadie, Joshua, Jaxon, Caleb, Colton, Raylan, Aiden, Aubrie, Adalyn, Taylor, Harper, Laiken, and Grant; and brothers, Albert Gallier and his wife, Gene and Julian Evans and his wife, Barbara.

He is preceded in death by his son, Albert “Mo” Gallier; mother, Emily Linton; father, Ray, Sr.; sister, Mary Henson; and brothers, Wayne Gallier and Joe Linton.

He graduated from South Park High School in 1953. Ray served in the United States Army and was stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia. He served overseas for thirteen months in Korea and was honorably discharged on April 30, 1963. After the service, he went to work for Bob White Electronics then for twenty years worked for Woods TV. Upon retiring he went into cabinet making. Ray enjoyed fishing, was a league bowler for many years, golfing, and time with his big family.

A gathering of Mr. Gallier’s family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

    Many great memories of Mr. Galiler from my days working at Crossroads Bowling Center in the 90s. He was a great guy who always had a smile and a kind word for all of us working the night shifts during his leagues. Sad to hear of his passing… but he truly left such a positive impression on me.
