Reed E. Nichols
Reed E. Nichols, 76, of Beaumont died Wednesday, March 16, 2022. He was born on September 13, 1945, in Beaumont, to Ellen Barton and Howard Grant Nichols. Reed was a United States Army Veteran who served during Vietnam.
Reed was a co-owner of Nichols Company for over fifty years. He loved fishing, traveling, cooking, and baking. Reed especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, Pop, and Big Shot.
Survivors include his wife of over thirty years, Jana Nichols of Beaumont; sons, Will Nichols and his wife, Kimberlee; and Jeff Wheeler and his wife, Emily, all of Beaumont; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Woodworth and her husband, Tom, of Happy Valley, Oregon; grandchildren, Duncan Nichols Russell and his wife, Anna; Madeline Nichols; John William Woodworth; Henry Reed Woodworth; Haddie Wheeler; and Sofie Wheeler; brothers, Howard Nichols, Jr. and his wife, Sally; Kenneth Nichols and his wife, Paula; and Allan Nichols, all of Beaumont; numerous extended family members; and many loving friends of Bill W.

A gathering of Mr. Nichols’ family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m. with his memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2022, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, Beaumont.

Judy and I have been very sick since 2000. Both with cancer – and several other serious diseases.
We do regret not keeping up with our beloved friend Reed Nichols. Thank you for the many fishing hours – the service to others hours – the hours on our phone
lifting each other up and the unconditional love that we shared. You are sorely missed – very sorely missed. God blessed many thru you sir

So sorry to hear about Reed. I worked with he and Howard for 20 years and more. The Nichols family will be in our prayers.
I remember Reed to be a sweet and kind man. I worked at Gibbons Reed was a regular at the store .always smiling. Prayers go out the Nichols family.
What an honor it is to have known Mr. Reed Nichols. His personality could light up a room. We always enjoyed his company and were truly impressed by his kindness. Mr. Nichols had a joyful spirit and his smile lives on in his children. He left a legacy of love and we send our deepest condolences. We pray for comfort for his family.

We met Reed 33 years ago when we purchased a beautiful Nichols home with unique features in the Bellechase neighborhood.
It saddens us to hear of his passing. We will forever be grateful for the many wonderful years we have lived in this home.

I was so saddened to hear of Reed’s death and am lifting the Nichols family up in prayer. Reed and I had known each other since elementary school. I will always remember how kind and friendly he was and how he greeted friends with that wonderful smile. He will be missed greatly.
