Reed E. Nichols

September 13, 1945 - March 16, 2022

Reed E. Nichols, 76, of Beaumont died Wednesday, March 16, 2022. He was born on September 13, 1945, in Beaumont, to Ellen Barton and Howard Grant Nichols. Reed was a United States Army Veteran who served during Vietnam.

Reed was a co-owner of Nichols Company for over fifty years. He loved fishing, traveling, cooking, and baking. Reed especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, Pop, and Big Shot.

Survivors include his wife of over thirty years, Jana Nichols of Beaumont; sons, Will Nichols and his wife, Kimberlee; and Jeff Wheeler and his wife, Emily, all of Beaumont; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Woodworth and her husband, Tom, of Happy Valley, Oregon; grandchildren, Duncan Nichols Russell and his wife, Anna; Madeline Nichols; John William Woodworth; Henry Reed Woodworth; Haddie Wheeler; and Sofie Wheeler; brothers, Howard Nichols, Jr. and his wife, Sally; Kenneth Nichols and his wife, Paula; and Allan Nichols, all of Beaumont; numerous extended family members; and many loving friends of Bill W.

A gathering of Mr. Nichols’ family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m. with his memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2022, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, Beaumont.
