Rexine Sellers Aubey
Rexine Sellers Aubey, 92, of Beaumont, went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 23, 2025, in Beaumont. She was born on January 2, 1933, in Port Arthur, to Pearl LeBlanc and Willy J. Sellers, Jr.
Rexine graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1951 and received a nursing diploma from Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in 1954. In 1972, she married Hez Aubey, the love of her life. They enjoyed forty-seven wonderful years together until his death in 2019. Rexine served as a den mom for Boy Scouts and participated in her children’s various activities over the years. She enjoyed volunteering in her community, helping others and was active in the League of Women Voters. She took pleasure in taking pictures of family and friends and sharing the photographs with them. Rexine had an incredible passion for gardening. Her yard was a peaceful sanctuary overflowing with beautiful plants and flowers and was enjoyed by friends, family and neighbors.
Survivors include her children, Walter Todd Burrell and his wife, Janine, of Beaumont; Brad Burrell and his partner, Teri, of Beaumont; and Paige Burrell Pate of Lufkin; grandchildren, Jeremy Burrell and his wife, Shelly; Corey Burrell and his wife, Meagan; Josh Burrell and his partner, Kaylee; Ryan Pate; Kelsey Pate and her husband, Ryan Martin; and Jordan Pate; and great-grandchildren, Charlee, Thatcher, Logan, Lainee, Liam, Jovie, Blake, Ellie, and Ivy.
Rexine is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hez Aubey; her twin sister, Maxine Sellers Feinberg; sister, Roxie LaBove; brother, William O. “Larry” Sellers; and son-in-law, Dennis Pate.
Rexine’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Debbie Ball that served her faithfully for so many years and became a dear friend. We greatly appreciate her caregiving team led by Casandra and are truly grateful to the team at Stonewood Hospice that stepped in and so wonderfully cared for her in her last days.

A gathering of Mrs. Aubey’s family and friends will begin 12:00 p.m. with her memorial service at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

Rexine will be missed by family and friends. She had many lifetime friendships and adored her family. She will be truly missed by her fur baby Gunter.
