Richard Davila

Ricardo “Richard” Arturo Davila, 52, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, September 27, 2022. He was born June 19, 1970, in Monterrey Mexico, to Alicia Gutierrez Davila and Albino Davila.

From an early age Richard has always been very friendly and he was always making friends. He had his wild side; he was a troublemaker but always keeping high spirits.

Richard spent most of his younger years with his brothers and had reunions with Abuelita Toña every weekend. He was always spending time with his sister like her chaperon. Richard had a rock and roll band when he was a teenager, he would gather with his friends for fun and practiced playing heavy metal. He still has his black guitar that he has kept for many years.

Richard was given the childhood nickname “la hamburguesa” by his friends and cousins and “marciano” by his brothers. When he was little, he worked as a mechanic helper with his uncle who taught him all his skills. When he moved to the United States in 1995, he worked doing yard work and babysat his nieces and nephews. In 2008 he started working for Chemical Weed Control where he continued through the rest of his life.

In 1998 he met the love of his life through a family friend at a family Superbowl Sunday party. They were engaged and married in 2000 and in 2010 by the church. Ever since then they have been inseparable, with Richard adopting Adam and Marquis as his own children. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, sibling, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle, and friend.

He loved to go fishing with a beer in his hand, barbecuing with Mr. Lona & family, driving his boat, and listening to his Metallica music. He listened to death metal, rock, Mexican music, country and many more.

There was always a smile on his face and he always made everyone laugh, his signature heavy metal fingers was always his go to when taking pictures. He wore his skull rings and heavy chains everywhere he went.

Richard was a good mechanic and a fixer; he took enjoyment in fixing anything. He always made sure his family was taken care of and a great provider, whatever you needed he was sure to make it happen.  Richard never failed to show everyone how much he loved them, he had a heart of gold, he was so patient, kind, and gentle.  He enjoyed working, always blaring music while doing tasks around his house.

Richard loved spending time with his grandson Adriel, that was his “babe”. Richard never failed to show how much he cared about his little boy. He was always a hard-worker and the “cool uncle”, protecting all his girls that he loved so much. He would do anything for them. Richard loved all his siblings and kept in close contact with them. When he would visit his sister, he would take enjoyment in eating her flour tortillas.  He made sure his only sister and youngest brother were taken care of.

Richard loved to travel with his wife, family, and children. He cooked barbecue every week, he always showed up to your events, he always gave from his heart. Richard wanted nothing else in life but to see his family happy.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Davila of Beaumont; children, Adam Davila and his son, Adriel Davila of Beaumont; Marquis Davila of Beaumont; siblings, Blanca Alicia Flores and her husband, Daniel Flores, of College Station; Rogelio Armando Davila and his wife, Brenda Davila of College Station; sisters-in-law, Guadalupe Davila of Beaumont; Tina Marie Davila of Beaumont; sixteen nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members and friends from throughout the years.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Reyes Alejandro Davila, Roberto Albino Davila.

A gathering of Mr. Davila’s family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
