Richard Hebert Vickers
Richard Herbert Vickers, 88, of Nederland, died Saturday May 31, 2025. He was born on September 26, 1936 in Beaumont, TX to Cornelia Abernathy Vickers and Herbert Lane Vickers.
Richard received his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lamar University and his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M. Richard married Dian Arsement Vickers. He loved traveling, fishing, building and operating businesses, eating some fine cooking from Dian, having his children and grandchildren over to provide some wisdom and advice.
Survivors include daughters, Vicki Westbrook and her husband, Gary, of New Braunfels and Lisa LaSalle of Nederland; grandchildren, Brittney Y’Barbo and her husband, Todd, of Kirbyville; Katelyn Johnson and her husband, Alex, of Greenville, South Carolina; Kelsey Weiss and her husband, Eric, of New Braunfels; Gabrielle LaSalle of San Marcos; Caden and Brock LaSalle of Nederland; great-grandchildren, Cole and Kate Y’Barbo, both of Kirbyville; Grace, Lily, Clara and Louis Johnson of Greenville, South Carolina; Lincoln Weiss of New Braunfels; sister, Lucille Hilton and her husband, James, both of Thorndale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dian and son, Reagan.
A memorial service for Mr. Vickers’ family and friends will be held at 10:00 am with a brief graveside service to follow, on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Tranquility Center Mausoleum at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
