Robert “Bob” Bushnell
Robert “Bob” Bushnell, 62, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, March 4, 2025. He was born on November 29, 1962, in Beaumont, to Bobbie Lee Bushnell and Cleighton Bushnell, Sr.
Bob loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter with his friend John Kaye. He loved to fish and do bass tournaments with his friend Derrick Madole. He spent the majority of his time in his back yard doing the things he loved, spending time with his dogs, swimming, and gardening. He looked forward to the arrival of his purple martins and nursed many back to health during the freezes. He could usually be found with a Miller Light and cigar in his hand enjoying his beautiful back yard.
Bob was a 1980 graduate of Forest Park High School and then graduated from Lamar University, where he earned his degree in Industrial Engineering. He followed his brother, Cleigh, into the valve industry and remained in that industry the rest of his life. Everyone says he was the most knowledgeable person they knew when it came to valves.
He was an amazing husband and father to Lori and Bailey. He spoiled them every chance he got. His daughter, Bailey, was the light of his life and he was so proud of her accomplishments. He got her into 4-H and loved raising goats alongside her. He enjoyed grilling and using his big green egg smoker. He enjoyed gardening, watching movies, and tv series with his wife, Lori. They were both big Texans fans but Bobs favorite team since he was a child, was the Washington Commanders (Redskins). He also enjoyed taking everyone out, including the dogs, on the side by side.
Four years ago, his daughter introduced him to his mini me, his son-in-law, Jon. Jon and Bob had many common interests: cars, fishing, and shooting. Jon soon became his beer drinking and cigar smoking buddy.
Bob was an animal lover and Bailey successfully talked him into thirteen pets at one time including goats, cats, dogs, and rabbits. But his all-time favorites were Slim, Lilly, and the two pugs, Daisy and Cookie.
Lori, Bailey, and Jon wanted to thank Zwick Valves for their care and concern during this time. The family would also like to thank Derrick and Elaine Madole for being their rock during this tragedy.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Bushnell; daughter, Bailey Riter and her husband, Jon, of Stafford; brother, Cleighton Bushnell and his wife, Jodie, of New Braunfels; nieces and nephews, Jamie Jones and her husband, Brian, of the Woodlands; Jessi Bushnell of Austin; and Kyle Bushnell and his wife, Christie, of Corpus Christi; uncle, Richard Bushnell of Woodworth, Louisiana; beloved pugs, Cookie and Daisy; and many co-workers, friends and loved ones through the years.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and beloved dogs, Slim and Lilly.
If you want to honor Bob’s memory, please get your heart checked, it could save your family from a tragedy like this.

Lori, Bailey, and Jon you are all in our prayers. Bob was a great guy, always with a big smile and always made everyone feel like family.
Bob was just like a brother to me.I will miss you so very much.Love you
So long old friend. It’s been so long since we spoke. With social media being what it is today, we just shared the little chats back and forth on Facebook. I thought about you often, and hoped one day we could go fishing together and catch up on everything from the last 40-plus years. I guess we’ll have to put that on hold for now. My heart goes out to your family, who I know you loved so much. I’ll remember you always buddy.
Bob is a gem who will be very missed. Love sent to your family ❤️
May he rest in peace.
