Robert "Bob" Green
Robert Martin “Bob” Green passed from this life Thursday, October 22, 2020, in Beaumont, Texas, after a hard-fought battle with COVID-19.
He was born to Robert D. and Ada Jean Martin Green on December 6, 1944, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He spent his childhood and early adulthood in Pennsylvania. After graduating high school, Bob served 4 years in the U.S. Navy and went on to become a computer programmer, and retired after a long career at Conn’s Inc.
Bob married the love of his life, Jane Inez Love, December 2, 1967. They raised two wonderful children together.
Bob had a love for going to fair it started in the early to late 90s. In the mid 2000s he decided he had the perfect silver hair to go with gandalph the white wizard, which is who he was known for not only at Texas Ren Fest but numerous other fairs throughout the country. He loved seeing his friends and family have fun at the fairs, as he would say “ fair brings out a different light in people- you find a magic”.
Bob had a love for his Camaros. Often would go to Houston and hang out with his buddies from the Camaro Club. His silver Camaro “his toy” was well known at local car shows and quite often would win first place. So many of the trophies are in his gameroom on display.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Inez Love Green and his son-in-law, Christopher Jacob Redding.
Bob leaves behind his loving children, Robert Logan “Bob” Green and his wife, Olivia, of Bothell, Washington and Rebecca ”Becky” Lee Green Redding of Lumberton, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley Byars and husband, Austin, of Lumberton; Robert A. “Bob” Green of Bothell, Washington; and Cameren Newton and Carmen Newton, both of Lumberton; great-grandchildren, Audi Byars and Amelia Byars, both of Lumberton, and multitudes of nieces, nephews, honorary family members and other loved ones, who will miss him immensely.
A gathering of Mr. Green’s family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
Well, here at last, dear friends, on the shores of the Seas comes to and end of our fellowship in Middle-earth. Go in peace! I will not say: do not weep: for all tears are not an evil -gandalph
