Robert Carroll
Robert Arlen Carroll, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away at age 76 on June 3, 2024. Robert was born in Monroe, Louisiana on August 17, 1947.
A faithful veteran, Robert served in the United States Army as a SP4 E4 in the 173rd airborne brigade and a sergeant in the 82nd airborne division. Some of his most treasured stories are from fighting alongside his fellow soldiers in the Vietnam War and jumping out of airplanes to strategically support the mission there. After honorable discharge from the military, Robert worked for many years as an appliance repair technician and offshore for Port Neches Towing Company. Those that know him best know that he loved to fish, and he was incredibly stubborn. There was no mistaking the love he had for his children and grandchildren, often sealed by three scratchy kisses.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Lavania Russell and Clarence Carroll; sisters, Lela Weise and Margaret Byrd; son, Jarrett Carroll; and son-in-law, Ricky Poole. He is survived by three daughters, Sonya (Scott) Holleman of Beaumont, Texas; Jennifer Flowers of Sour Lake, Texsa; and Katy (Bryan) Trotty of Nacogdoches, Texas; six grandchildren, Brittany, Casey, Clayton, Madison, Noah, and Harper; three great-grandchildren, Kyler, Gavin, and Finley; two beloved brothers-in-law, Billy Weise and Darrell Byrd; and many nieces and nephews.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to AccentCare Home Health, 5687 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont, Texas 77706 in his name.
