Robert Earl Strother

October 29, 1947 - March 13, 2022

Robert Earl Strother, 74, of Silsbee, died Sunday, March 13, 2022.  He was born on October 29, 1947, in Silsbee, to Thelma Yielding Strother and Wade Strother.  Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Strother; children, Kandi Robertson and her husband, Jeff, of Wildwood; David Strother of Lafayette, Louisiana; and Amy M. Strickland and her husband, Jeff, of Jasper; grandchildren, Austin Robertson; Justin Robertson and his wife, Hannah, of Shreveport, Louisiana; Haley Strother; Aria Strother; Sarah Strother; Kathryn Strother; and Evan Strickland; great-grandchildren, Luke and Nash; and sister, Barbara Scharber of Silsbee.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Reverend Alvin Strother and Reverend Marshall Strother, and sister, Dr. Billie Fern Strother.

A gathering of Robert’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Silsbee.
