Robert Edward Cleveland

September 23, 1940 - July 5, 2025

Robert Edward Cleveland was born September 23rd, 1940, in Beaumont, Texas. He passed away Saturday, July 5th, 2025. His last moments were spent surrounded by family; sharing stories, expressing their love and sharing God’s Truth.

Robert is known as a loyal, hard-working, and loving man. His quiet strength and generosity impacted his family and untold numbers of people throughout his business and personal activities. Robert had the ability to make what seemed impossible, possible. He was a problem-solver, and way-maker. He was the best Honey Do’er Sue could want, making all their goals and dreams come true. He was a man who fulfilled his promises and would always show up for the ones he loved. His silly songs, loving embrace and playful personality will be missed but never forgotten.

Robert is loved by many but his legacy includes his loving wife of 65 years, Sue Jordan Cleveland, children Ron Cleveland and his wife Kathy and their children, Dustin and his wife Leah, Jake and great-grandchildren, Conor, Luke and Danielle;  Kay Dresden and her husband Dennis and their children Chad, Andrew and Victoria, her husband Ryan Fern, great-grandchild, Hudson; and Jennifer Williams and her children, Alexandra and Chase, his wife Hannah, great-grandchild, Joey Bella. His sister Kitty Claudette Cleveland Drake and husband Jerry. He was preceded in death by his father Ollie B. Cleveland and mother Georgie Roberts Cleveland, sister Jackie Cleveland Anders and brothers Ricky Cleveland and Joey Cleveland.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Robert’s honor at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Reign Hills and Events, 9823 US Highway 69, Kountze. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8

He will be greatly missed by many….,,, I have so many fond memories of Mr. Cleveland he always had a smile , He and Mrs. Cleveland opened their home up to all us kids …. We had slumber parties .. which I know we kept them up but they never said a word… when he came home with a new green Fiat car he told us all kiddos becareful here’s the keys yall practice driving up and Roberts road we packed into the car like sardines, there was a time they took a bunch of us camping at Dam B and pulled us behind their boat skiing and fishing …. There was never a limit as to how many could come their motto was the more the merrier …. They set the tone of family that so many of us followed later in our adult lives …. I love you both and I’m so thankful I was able to be apart of your family growing up.

We are saddened to hear of Robert’s passing. He was a part of the greatest duo we ever had the honor of working with. Sue y’all were instrumental in getting our firm started when it was only Gina and myself. Our relationship lasted for 40 plus years. We developed a tremendous respect for Robert and you. We are forever grateful for all the opportunities and success y’all afforded us. He was a good, considerate and giving man.
Heavenly Father I pray you wrap Sue and the Cleveland Family in your loving embrace. Let your grace shine upon them. I pray you grant them strength, comfort and peace during this difficult time and always.
In Jesus’s name I pray, Amen and Amen.

    James White says:

To the Cleveland Family: I am grateful to have known Mr. Robert Cleveland. He exemplifies a God-fearing Man, Husband, Father, Texan, and Business Leader. To my very good Friend Sue Cleveland— Sue, I love you very much. Obviously, by being in the construction business, Robert was tough, but at the same time, he was gentle with his smile. The demeanor of his speech was never loud, but it always carried moral weight. His humility was his strength. Many men demand respect, but Robert earned respect. Maybe it was because strong women just attract strong men 😊 and you Sue are a very strong woman.

As I pray for you and your Family, I am confident that Jesus’ love for you is providing an overwhelming measure of compassion. God bless and may He keep you and uplift you.

    God bless

    James White
