Robert “Lynn” Poole

September 3, 1948 - July 29, 2024

Robert Lynn Poole, 75, of Beaumont, Texas, went to live with the Lord July 29, 2024, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.

Born and raised in Orange, Texas, Lynn was a 1967 graduate of West Orange High School. After graduation, he served in the US Army two years in Fairbanks, Alaska. Upon returning home, he moved to Mauriceville, Texas, and went to work as a carpenter for Gulf Oil Co.

In his 40s he decided to go back to school and graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston as an occupational therapist. He went on to get a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Stephen F. Austin State University and worked the next 20 years as an occupational therapist

In his 30s Lynn gave his life to the Lord and remained a faithful Christian throughout his life. He is a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont.

Singing was an important part of Lynn’s life. He enjoyed singing at church events as well as performing in musical productions throughout the area.

Lynn loved competition and the outdoors from a young age. In his 20s he enjoyed waterskiing and in his 30s he began canoe racing, competing across the state for 30 years and accumulating many trophies. After retirement he discovered golf and most recently pickleball.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Gladys Juanita Virginia Poole, and his brother, Marvin Poole.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle; his sister, Germaine Louviere of Vidor; his brother, Virgil and wife, Susan Poole, of Rungie, Texas; his children, Sherri Wood of Kountze; Adraid and wife, Sara Poole, of Lumberton; and Robert; stepchildren, Karyn and husband, Andy Pricer. of Guadalajara, Mexico; Kris and wife, Lesley Standridge, of Plano, and Jill and husband, Jason Yeaman, of Bridge City; grandchildren, Christopher Stephenson and wife, Stephanie; Caleb Stephenson; Christian Stephenson and wife, Allie; Danielle Carey and husband, Caleb; Matthew Wood; Elina Abby Poole; Logan Poole; Mason Poole; Hunter Pricer and wife, Lanie; Julia Garcia and husband, David; Brittanie Pricer; Kellan Standridge; Audrey Standridge; Jensyn Yeaman; and Jude Yeaman; and eight great grandchildren.

Lynn was a humble man who requested that no service be held, and his family respects his wishes. He will be remembered as a faithful Christian man who loved God above all else.

Cremation arrangements for Mr. Poole were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
