Rodger “Ray” Maples, Sr.

Rodger “Ray” Maples, Sr., 79, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, November 27, 2024. He was born on November 6, 1945, in Henderson, to Rena Wallace and Floyd Maples.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon “Sherry” Maples; children, Rita Marie DeVilleneuve; Rodger Ray Maples, Jr. and his wife, Carrie; Floyd Maples and his wife, Cheri; and Shannon Maples; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Cynthia Addison; special cousin, Beth Sykora; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Rena and Floyd; brothers, Charles “Chuck” Maples and Jerry Maples; and grandson, Andrew Campbell, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Worldwide Work of Jehovah’s Witnesses at donate.jw.org or if you wish monetary donations can be made to the family.

A memorial service for Mr. Maples will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2350 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Cremation arrangements for Mr. Maples will be held through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

    My dearest big sister, I know this is a rough time for you, sweetheart. We are right here with you at all time day or night. I’m very serious about that. Never never feel like you’re alone.
    Anytime you need us you call and you know me I’ll call anytime I can which is two or three times a day. I’m sorry!

    Dear Sherry, i am so very sorry for your loss. I really became close to you both in the last 5 years or so, and in that time i heard so many wonderful stories of your life and love for another. What we lose in this life will be given back to us in the New World. No more sickness or death to cause us pain. Ray will be back restoring his vintage vehicles and loving his Art very soon.
