Roldan “Rolly” Linsao Arrieta

July 23, 1949 - February 14, 2025

Roldan “Rolly” Linsao Arrieta passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Baylor St. Luke Medical Center in Houston surrounded by loved ones.

He was born in Manila, Philippines on July 23, 1949, to Llerena Verde Linsao Arrieta and Paterno Asistio Arrieta.

Rolly worked as an underwater welder and mechanic who used his skills to see the world as a seaman for many years. He eventually settled in Fannett, Texas, in the early 1980s with his siblings where he worked for Hamshire-Fannett and BISD in mechanics and maintenance. He was an active member of the Philippine Association of Beaumont, Texas, with whom he helped build three award-winning parade floats in the Beaumont Heritage Festival.

He loved to tell stories about his days at sea and he often reminisced about the adventures of his younger years with his siblings and family. He lived and spoke with much passion and a little bit of mischief. He loved to tell jokes or do anything to make people smile. His friends and coworkers knew him as a happy, kind man who often sang AT them instead of to them.
