Ron Legnion
Ron Legnion, 80, of Beaumont, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Christus Southeast Texas–St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. He was born September 19, 1945, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Esther Duhon Legnion and Martin Legnion.
Ron was a proud veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps. He and his beloved wife, Susan, were married in 1969 and built a life together centered on faith and family. In 1970, he graduated from Lamar State College of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Education. His career later led him into the financial services industry, where he served as a trusted financial advisor for the last thirty-eight years. His clients were his friends, and his work was his ministry.
Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who deeply valued his family and friends. He maintained a strong Catholic faith throughout his life. After moving from Slidell, Louisiana, to Beaumont in 1988, he founded the Men of Jude at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. More than forty years ago, Ron attended the Manresa House of Retreats in Convent, Louisiana, an experience that later inspired him to help establish a Manresa retreat in Beaumont.
Ron was proud of his Cajun heritage and enjoyed Cajun music, food, and genealogy. He built an impressive library of Cajun literature and loved sharing his culture with family and friends. Some of his happiest moments were spent with family at the beach. Ron was known for his kindness and warmth and was truly a friend to everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Legnion; daughter, Michelle Kraemer and her husband, Kenny, of Beaumont; son, Daniel Legnion and his wife, Kadie, of Dickinson; sister, Faye Davenport of Orange; grandchildren, Meredith Kraemer of Port Neches, John Kraemer and his wife, Abi, of Beaumont, and Kate Legnion and Jake Legnion, both of Dickinson; great-granddaughter, Amelia Kraemer of Beaumont; niece, Laurie Wallace and her husband, Stan; and great-niece, Wren Wallace, all of Austin.
A gathering of Mr. Legnion’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 16, 2026, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.

Susan, I’m so sorry that ur husband passed away! Please know that I am keeping u and ur family in my prayers for comfort, strength, and peace.
What will we do without our Cajun consigliere? Ron expertly guided two generations of our family. We will miss our dear friend and trusted advisor. Rest well, good sir.
Susan and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Ron was one of the kindest, most pleasant people I have ever met. There are no words to heal your broken hearts, but hopefully, with time, the beautiful family memories you guys have will bring a smile to your face. He will be missed. Prayers for you all.
Ron and Susan have been special people in our lives. Ron led our men to Manresa in Convent, La. for many years and began our Manresa Retreats here in Beaumont over 30 years ago. We have benefited spiritually because of Manresa.
They led a “Renew” Ministry in the early days of St. Jude Thaddeus, and brother, Dennis, had many grateful experiences with them.
Thank you, Susan for caring and loving this special person, May you and your family be comforted through our prayers, and my Ron rest in that deserving Heaven, in peace.
This afternoon as Patsy and I attended the
Wake Service for my Dear Friend and Brother in Christ, I got to see True Love of a Friend, a loving husband, a father, grandfather on Display from God. I have lots of memories about Uncle Ronnie. My favorite was when he road his new bike into the living room! I was shocked and we laughed so hard! What a fantastic man! You will never be forgotten.

My heartfelt condolences to you Susan and your whole family. I worked with Larry at CTW for 8 years and saw Ron at least weekly. He had the best cheery attitude and could always put a smile on your face. His loss will be felt in a wide swath as you well know. My God give you and your whole family strength in your grief.
It was a joy to be in Ron’s presence. From the first time I met Ron I felt like he had known me for 100 years, Always made me feel welcome, appreciated. He had a great sense of humor, could always get a laugh out of me. My heart goes out to Susan, Michelle, Daniel, and all the extended family for their loss. He will be truly missed.
I was shocked and broken when I learned that my best friend has died. Ronnie Legnion and I met in about 1963 through mutual friends and we have never lost touch. He is responsible for much of my development as a strong Catholic man and I don’t know how life will ever be the same. Semper Fi, Ronnie. I love you, man!
Ron was good to me as his electrician, and very generous. I enjoyed his Cajun jokes and quick wit. And his hot sauce! I’ll miss Ron. Prayers for Susan

Ronnie Legnion!!! The first time I can ever remember hearing the term ‘My Brother From Another Mother’….was from my Father, Ernie, referring to Mr Ron. So different, yet cut from the same cloth. Mr. Ron was like a second father to me when I was in elementary and was the first person to put me behind the wheel of a car…his Camaro that I thought was the coolest car in all of Lake Village – Slidell!!
