Ronald Charles “Ronnie” Benoit

Ronald Charles “Ronnie” Benoit, 76, of China, died Sunday, June 19, 2022. He was born on November 14, 1945, to Beulah Benton Belile Benoit and Lawrence Benoit, in Beaumont.

Ronnie was a lifetime rice farmer, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4 for many years, insurance agent, and pillar in his community. He loved hunting and fishing, coaching basketball, was an avid water-skier in his youth and held records for jumping, was an ag pilot and flew crop dusters, and enjoyed skeet and trap shooting. Ronnie was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and everyone’s “Grumpy”.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Judi Johnston Benoit; daughter, Carol Joy Born and her husband, Kevin, of Beaumont; son, Chuck Benoit and his wife, Theresa, of China; grandchildren, Laura Leigh and her husband, James, Anna and her fiancé, Alex, William, and Emma; great-granddaughter, Lily; three bonus grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, sister and brother-in-law, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard and Larry Benoit.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Benoit will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 245 West Highway 90, China, with a gathering of his family and friends to follow in the parish hall. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

We are so sorry to hear that he is no longer with us and we know that he will be deeply missed by his family and community.
