Ronald “Ronnie” Kuebodeaux
Ronald “Ronnie” Kuebodeaux, 85, of China, died Friday, December 10, 2021, at Pelican Bay Assisted Living, Beaumont. He was born February 11, 1936, in Crowley, Louisiana, to Angele Meche Kuebodeaux and Arthur Kuebodeaux.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Dean Kuebodeaux, of China; daughter, Reneé Kuebodeaux of Florida; son, Andy Kuebodeaux and his wife, Audrey, of Beaumont; brother, Benton Kuebodeaux of Deltona, Florida; sister, Katherine Jeffcoat and her husband, Jack, of Meeker; grandchildren, Heather Clark of Colorado; Codi Burgess and her husband, Callan, of Lumberton; Daisy Reneé Clark; great-grandchildren, Greyson Burgess, Cameron Burgess, and Ahzyna Clark.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Harold, Wayne, and Gerald Kuebodeaux and his parents, Arthur and Angele Kuebodeaux.

A gathering of Ronnie’s family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 13, 2021, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at China United Methodist Church, 205 West Washington Avenue, China, with his interment to follow at China Cemetery, China.

I just heard about Ronnie’s death and so sorry I missed saying goodbye to him. I know he and his CHS class started the school reunion of which I missed very few. Thank you Ronnie & Dean for being my friend and sharing some of my family memories in the China History. Blessing to Dean and your family. I will never forget you two especially Ronnie bringing his scouts to our home in Bevil Oaks flood to help sand bag. That first time it worked. What a great leader he was. Take care my friend.

I just saw this about Mr. Ronnie’s passing. He was one of my Scoutmasters on a National Jamboree I went on to Idaho more than a few years ago. He had us Scouts call him Mr. Ronnie because we would butcher his last name. He was one of a kind and I know he did so much with Troop 10 in China. He also built tiny houses to be auctioned out to benefit the CASA organization, if I remember right. I would see him out with his wife later in his life and I knew he had some bad health issues. I know he is in a better place now, and no longer suffering and everything is clear to him. I regret missing his funeral. May he rest in peace.
I would often see Ronnie and his wife Dean, out and about, we talk briefly. Such a lovely and devoted couple. I first met Mr. Kubedaux up at Scout Camp, it was called Camp Urland then, he was Scoutmaster of Troop 10 in China, he also was best friends my Cousin Dr. Gary Baine, Scoutmaster of Troop 13 later to become Troop “Lucky” 213. There is not enough room or time to say all the wonderful things about these two men and their good works. Ronnie was the one who said about my cousin Gary, “He was just about the Best Scoutmaster anyone ever knew”, I always wanted to tell Ronnie the same applied to him. He was so industrious and such a good man. Scouting is diminished severely for the lack of men and leadership that they give freely to us as boys and young men. I suspect that whatever heaven holds those two or up there hiking, and joking, and just have a ball of a time. I miss you guys. Bucky
