Ruby Pearl Kilpatrick

Ruby Pearl Kilpatrick, 96, of Beaumont, died Monday, October 25, 2021, at Belmont Village Senior Living, West Lake Hills, Texas. She was born July 25, 1925, in Deweyville, to Annie Oxley Nappier and Emery Nappier. Ruby went to nursing school during World War II, and worked as a nurse for many years. After her children were grown, she went back to school and obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Her last job was a nursing instructor at Lamar University School of Nursing.

Ruby is survived by her children, Dale Kilpatrick and his wife, Kay, of Lumberton; William Kilpatrick and his wife, Jenny, of Houston; and Dianne Kilpatrick of Austin; grandchildren, Keri Kilpatrick, Kami Rengert, Karla Kilpatrick Jones; Brandon Kilpatrick; Kevin Kilpatrick; Kelly Kilpatrick; Alyssa Tough; Dasha Kilpatrick; great-grandchildren, Trent Skinner, Emily Skinner, Trevor Jones, Bryson Jones, Justin Morwood, Meridian Kilpatrick, Parker Tough, Chase Tough, Evan Tough; and great-great-grandchild, Jake Jones.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rufus U. Kilpatrick, and sons Rufus Kilpatrick, Jr. and Bradford L. Kilpatrick.

A gathering of Ruby’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Broussard’s Mortuary, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.

    I am sorry about the loss of your mom, Ruby Pearl. She will be added to my prayer list.
    You do not know me…I am the daughter of Iley and JoElla Oxley your grandmother Annie’s brother. My cousin, Elizabeth Oxley Geortz, daughter of Monroe and Olivette Oxley, another brother of your grandmother, Is doing research on some of the Oxley family. This is how I came across your mother’s obituary.
