Ruby Deloris Harris
Ruby Deloris Harris, 80, of Buna, died Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was born on November 27, 1942, in Newton County, to Arbell Van Pelt Williams and Lee Williams.
Mrs. Harris lived her life as a devoted Christian. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed working in the bakery at Brookshire Brothers in Silsbee. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, and Maw Maw.
Survivors include her sons, Lloyd Wayne Harris and his wife, Cristi, of Orange and Thomas Harris, Sr. and his wife, Terrie, of Vidor; daughters, Glenda Hilgemeier of Buna and Julie Ortolon and her husband David, of Devil’s Pocket; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ben Williams of Texas City; sisters, Betty Lavine of Orange and Sally Vance of Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of thirty-nine years, Lloyd Harris; seven brothers; and a sister.
A gathering of Mrs. Harris’ family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2022, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Morse Cemetery, Buna.

Lloyd, I’m sorry to hear about your mom’s passing, I never knew her ,but wanted to offer my condolences to you, and your family. You and I had worked together for Goldrus Drilling Company several years ago.
Hey mike sure I remember you and thank you for you message.i really like the way your trying to cover up our age by saying it was several years age we worked togther (more like several decades lol)..i remember when you had that speaker system in your truck and competed with it…i loved working with your Dad back then with me being a young Driller he sure taught me so much and I appreciated him ..thanks again and take care

Oh, Glenda. I’m sorry beyond words to hear that your mama passed. She was an awesome lady. She was always glad to see me at family gatherings. Loved her dearly. My heart hurts for you and the whole family.
