Ruby Schuff

December 20, 1939 - April 16, 2026

Ruby Schuff (née Hebert), 86, of Buna, was peacefully called home to the Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2026. She was born on December 20, 1939, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Clarence Hebert and Mary Alice Boudreaux Hebert. Ruby was a woman of unwavering faith whose life reflected a steadfast trust in God. Her greatest joy was family, and she poured her love into each generation with wisdom, prayer, and compassion. She had a special love for children and faithfully served in her church nursery for many years while living in Houston. After moving to Southeast Texas, she became a devoted member of Buna United Pentecostal Church, where she drew great comfort from her pastor, Richard Dykes, and her church family.

Survivors include her children, Rickey Schuff of Pearland; Pamela Glass of Buna; and Tammie Rios and husband Frank of Houston; grandchildren, Dalton Glass and wife Kayla, Kaitlyn Fregia and husband Paul, Taylor Rios and husband Zach Luna, Kaylee Rios and Jesus Macedo; great-grandchildren, Landon and Garrett Glass, Kynlee and Callie Fregia, Daisy and Violet Luna, Montgomery and Shelby Schuff; and sisters, Ethel Buller and Ruth Hebert.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years, LeRoy Schuff; grandsons, Rickey Schuff II and Aaron Schuff; sisters, Mary Wall and Lillian Mason; brothers, Nelson, Kelly, Clarence, Sidney, Hull, and Herbert Hebert; and nephew, James Hebert.

While we mourn Ruby’s passing, we rejoice in knowing she has entered eternal rest and received her heavenly reward. Her life was a living testimony to God’s grace, and her love will remain forever in our hearts.

A gathering of Mrs. Schuff’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will be 2:00 p.m., Fairview Cemetery, 213 Fairview Cemetery Drive, Winnie.

We are especially grateful for granddaughter-in-law, Kayla Glass, whose devoted and loving service as Ruby’s hospice nurse was a profound blessing to our family. Her calm and gentle presence provided dignity and comfort during life’s most vulnerable moments. The family would also like to acknowledge the first-rate staff at Casita De Manuel Private Care Home in Kirbyville for the kindness, compassion, and gentle care provided to Ruby during this challenging time.

Lastly, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Bro. Dykes and Bobby and Debbie Johnson for their love, friendship, and support.

Mom/Grandma – As you always told us – “We love you bigger than the sky.”

You truly were one of a kind and will be missed! I find comfort knowing you are no longer in pain and with Dad. You gained your wings sweet momma and I will treasure the memories and the love you selflessly gave. I will continue looking and praying for the signs that show you are with me. Until we meet again i love you bigger than the sky!!
