Ruth Tate, 89, of Sour Lake, died Monday, June 10, 2024. She was born on March 8, 1935, in Port Arthur, to Della Adaway Sangwin and Leonard Sangwin.
Survivors include her daughter, Evelyn Brown and her husband, Arthur, of Sour Lake. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Albert Tate, Sr.; and children, Glenda Fay Wright, Charles Murphy Tate, and George Albert Tate, Jr.
A gathering of Mrs. Tate’s family and friends will be 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. Her graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m., at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Sour Lake.
