Sabina “Sally” Gomez

Sabina “Sally” Gomez, 76, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, October 16, 2024. She was born on May 1, 1948, in Wharton, Texas, to Clara Macias Soliz and Domingo Soliz.

She attended Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church in Beaumont. She was a member of Queenship of Mary Court 2776 of Catholic Daughters and was head of the Saint Joseph Altar Cookies Committee. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed baking cakes, cookies, and cupcakes for all holidays and birthdays. Oh, and let’s not forget she enjoyed making Tamales and playing Bingo. She will be truly missed by all that knew her and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Ruben Gomez; daughter, Terri Garza and her husband, Augustine; sons, Michael Gomez; Joseph Gomez and his wife, Shana; and Lance Gomez and his wife, Nichole; sisters, Rosa Luna of Houston; and Lily Soliz of Bakersfield; brother, Raymond Soliz of Angleton; grandchildren, Victor Gomez and his wife, Tiffany; Augustine Garza, Jr., and his wife, Ryan; Priscilla Brooks and her husband, William; Marissa Garza; Arianna Gomez; Raysa Gomez; Abigail Gomez; Heidi Gomez; and Nathan Gomez; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Cruz Soliz; and sisters, Angie Soliz and Debra Traster.

A gathering of Mrs. Gomez’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2024, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church, 4445 Avenue A, Beaumont, with her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
