Sadie Melancon Bourge
Sadie Melancon Bourge, 92, of Hamshire, died Tuesday, March 4, 2025. She was born October 4, 1932, in Rayne, Louisiana, to Ula Menard and Remi Miller.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda East and Tessie Frick, husband, Larry; grandchildren, Angela McBride and husband, David; Cody East and wife, Susan; Christy McShannon and husband, Corey; Eric Frick and wife, Jessica; Jimmy East and wife, Tynell; and Clint East and wife, Deborah; twenty-three great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and siblings, Roberta Miller and Rita Mae Boullion.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ervin Melancon of forty-eight years and Fabian Bourge of seven years; and siblings, Preston Miller, Weston Miller, Ruby Leger, and Racella Marks.
A gathering of Mrs. Bourge’s friends and family will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Dear Family,
I was sorry to see that Sadie had passed away. But getting to 92 is no small task! Sadie was a fine person! May she rest in the arms of our Dear Lord, and may you always have Sadie in your hearts.

Ruby and Frances Doga were my in-laws and I met Ms.Sadie and Mr Ervin through them. Sweet memories for sure. They were great friends.
