Sammie Jean Wallace
Sammie Jean Wallace, 85, of Nederland, died Friday, October 7, 2022, at Brookdale Dowlen Oaks. She was born September 7, 1937, in Goose Creek, to Hallie and James Lay.
Sammie loved her house plants, playing the piano, and traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Wallace; daughters, Roxanne Wallace and Jana Turner; grandchildren, Hannah Turner, Hailey Turner, and Bethany Porterie; and great grandchild, Ayda Guadarrama-Turner.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Russell “Rusty” Wallace; sisters, Jimmie Swensen and Betty Jo Young; and grandson, Joseph “Joey” Whitman.
A gathering of Mrs. Wallace’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
