Sandra Yvonne Jackson

July 14, 1962 - September 27, 2022

Sandra Yvonne Jackson, 60, of Fred, passed from earth on September 27, 2022, at her home.  She was born July 14, 1962, in Kountze, to Ruby Drake Jenkins and Louis D. “Skeet” Jenkins.

“Aunt Sandy”, as she was called by most, was known for her giving nature and affinity for caring for others. She opened her home and kitchen to all. Sandy enjoyed the outdoors, growing all types of vegetables and flowers, and critters of all types. Sandy loved her family fiercely and in recent years her greatest joy was being Nena to her gaggle of granddaughters.

Sandy is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, Donald Jackson; daughters, Chevette Melton and her husband, Chris and Camilia Mathis and her husband, Raymond; granddaughters, Ruby, Betty, and Katie Melton and Mary and Raylee Mathis; sisters, Rose Carriker and Doris Poche; brother, Larry Jenkins; and a host of nieces and nephews, both blood and adopted.  She is preceded in death by her parents, and nephew, Milton R. Graham, Jr.

A gathering of Sandy’s family and friends will begin 3:00 p.m., at Franks Branch Cemetery, with her graveside service at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Franks Branch Cemetery, Fred.
