Sarah Marie Bratton

January 15, 1935 - April 13, 2026

Sarah Marie Bratton, a woman of remarkable energy, style, and heart, passed away on April 13, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on January 15, 1935, in Port Arthur, to Theresa Greco Terracina and Anthony Terracina, II, Sarah lived a life defined by her tireless work ethic, her passion for her community, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Sarah’s professional journey began early. At just 17 years old, she was a dedicated Distributive Education (D.E.) student, gaining foundational experience at C.R. Anthony’s and Myron’s dress store. In 1953, she married Arthur Lynd and stepped into the whirlwind of motherhood, welcoming three children in just two and a half years. Despite the demands of a young family, Sarah’s spirit of service was already in full bloom; she was a fixture in her church, a familiar face selling Avon, and a constant supporter of local baseball activities.

As her children grew, so did her career. Sarah transitioned into a diverse range of roles, from plant security at Texaco to serving the Port Arthur Police Department as a Dictaphone operator. Her natural talent for fashion eventually led her back to retail, where she worked for J.C. Penney and later as a lingerie buyer for Dryden’s and a consultant at Bea Criccho’s Bridal Boutique.

Life took a beautiful turn when she met Jeff Faseler. Following their marriage, she moved to Lake Jackson, where she began a long and successful tenure with Joske’s. She remained with the company through its transition to Dillard’s, retiring at the age of 62. Married Noel Bratton in 1997, living their final days in Spurger Texas.

Even in retirement, Sarah never truly stopped working—she simply shifted her focus to those who needed her most. She gave her time generously to Hospice, served as a “Book Buddy” for elementary students, acted as a community liaison, and brought comfort to residents in local nursing homes.

Sarah’s greatest legacy is her family. She is survived by her children, Art Lynd and his wife, Annette, of Groves; Carol Mathews and her husband, Gary, of Buda; and Greg Lynd and his wife, Ruth, of Woodville; grandchildren, Beau Lynd of Hamshire; Jessica Lynd of Maryland; Jason Rollinson and his wife, Misty, of Huntsville; Eric Rollinson of Lafayette, Colorado; David Rollinson and his wife, Heather, of Nederland; Michael Rollinson of Buda; Bryce Lynd and his wife, Veronica, of Cypress; and Blake Lynd of Montgomery; ten great-grandchildren; and half-siblings, Kent Terracina, Sammy Terracina, Luke Terracina, Janice Marks, and Melinda Terracina.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Noel Bratton; and siblings, Alice Broussard and Anthony Terracina, III.

She will be remembered for her sharp mind, her generous soul, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of her family and the many lives she touched through her service.

A gathering of Mrs. Bratton’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 17, 2026, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Franks Branch Cemetery, Fred.

Mrs Marie; to know her was to love her. She was a vibrant part of my life. She was a dear friend to my Nana. She taught and served in many roles at Mt Olivet as I grew up.
I loved to spend time visiting with her. Especially as an adult. Just hanging out with the “Widow Women’s Convention ” canasta games and listening to them cut up brought me much joy. I loved Mrs Marie’s quick wit and banter.
She was a special lady and has been and will continue to be missed.

I remember Marie as a grandmother to my precious nephews, Bryce & Blake. She was often there visiting the children when I went to visit my sister & family. Loaded with the finest apparel for those boys!

I will remember this red head woman, mild & meek in presence.

I know Bryce & Blake will miss her.

My condolences to Greg & family too.
